Mothers & Daughters Enjoy Booktalks!
The first-ever Mother-Daughter Booktalk held on February 13th wa
s
a success. "Girls Read" was the theme of the February 13th ESP (Enrich-Support-Provide) program
held at the North Campus Library. Almost 50 moms and daughters enjoyed booktalking by
celebrity Nancy Schwerin (FCS Interior and Fashion Design instructor) and tasty treats
provided by Kate Ebner and Danielle Mackovitch (FCS Foods instructo

Librarians Kelley Gibson, Carol Henry, and Nancy Richter also booktalked, and Marilyn Zimny helped
coordinate the event. After the booktalks, which were centered around topics mothers and
daughters would equally enjoy, each attendee took home a free paperback copy (or two) of a
highlighted book. Books were purchased using grant funds. Several ESP Booktalk evenings
are held throughout the year.

students who read at least one book from the
summer reading lists
and completed a postcard with their comments about the book. Postcards
could either be mailed in or dropped off at various locations.
Mr. Scott Eggerding, Director of Curriculum and Instruction
