A 1973 graduate, Allan Loudell has been the program manager and the news co-anchor at WILM NEWSRADIO, Wilmington, Delaware, since 1987. He is also a political pundit on Philadelphia/Wilmington's WHYY-TV and president of The Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters. Having built a network of journalists and experts around the world for live reports and breaking stories, Loudell orchestrated award-winning coverage of the Gulf War; the Soviet coup-attempt and the break-up; and various Delaware elections. Loudell has driven WILM to local, state and national awards, including a national Crystal award, "Best Radio Newscast" in the Philadelphia market from The Society of Professional Journalists, and DELA WARE TODAY magazine in 1996 named him "Best Radio Star." BILLBOARD magazine named him "Program Director of the Week." He holds a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Loudell has been on the air virtually every week of his life since the first month of his freshman year at LT, when he joined WLTL; there he founded the Suburban High School Radio Network. Today, he continues to work with high school radio students in the Delaware Valley.
