1969 LTHS graduate Andrew Hill is a 1999 Grammy Award winner as producer of the Best Musical Album for Children. An independent music supervisor and film music producer since 1995, he has earned credits on several feature films, including James and the Giant Peach, Anastasia, and Message in A Bottle, as well as the television productions of Walt Disney's Cinderella and Annie. As Vice President of Music Production for Walt Disney Studios from 1988-1995, he supervised music production on several multi-award-winning films, among them The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King. He oversaw the development and recording of original music for Dick Tracey, Aladdin, and Sister Act I & II. For Walt Disney Records, he served as Executive Producer of the long-running World Music hit, Rhythm of the Pridelands, which contributed a number of songs to the Broadway version of The Lion King. Prior to moving to California, he taught Music for Film and TV at Columbia College, Chicago, in addition to running the department's film production office. He graduated in 1974 with a BFA in Film from the Institute of Film & TV at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. A published author, Hill's first novel, a supernatural thriller entitled Enoch's Portal, has been purchased by Paramount Pictures for development as a major motion picture.
